Wolves look to clinch first

The Sight & Sound Wolves can clinch first place in the Rainy River District Fastball League standings with a win tonight at VanJura here.
The Wolves (13-2) face third-place Barwick (9-6) at 8 p.m. in the final game of their regular-season schedule.
Sight & Sound continued its winning ways this past Tuesday courtesy a 6-2 victory over host Sabaskong (2-11).
Kimby Copenace (1-0) earned the win while Mick Copenace (0-1) was tagged with the loss.
Marcel Pagee did his part to contribute to the win, going deep for his third homer of the season.
Marcel Horton belted his first home run of the season for Sabaskong.
In other RRDFL action Tuesday night, Rainy River (12-4) lost a 18-10 shootout to Big Island (5-9-1) in a game that featured six home runs altogether.
Donny Gall, Marty Armstrong, Earl Ivall, and Justin Wagner all homered for Rainy River while Chuck Andy and Ryan Jack went deep for Big Grassy.
Melvin Major (1-2) earned his first win of the season for Big Grassy while Rainy River’s Donny Gall (0-1) took the loss.
Meanwhile, Barwick bombed International Falls (6-7) by a 19-1 score without hitting a home run.
George Oltsher (6-3) earned the win while Duane Carlson Sr. (3-3) suffered the loss.
The other game Tuesday night saw Stratton (6-9) win 15-9 against Big Island (5-9-1).
Chris Pollard hit his first homer of the season for Stratton while Brendan Big George and Jessie Tom each hit round-trippers for Big Island.
Guy Arpin earned the win to even his record at 2-2 on the season while Carl Big George Jr. (1-3) was saddled with the loss.
The rest of tonight’s RRDFL schedule includes International Falls visiting Sabaskong, Rainy River travelling to Big Island, and Big Grassy at Stratton.
All these games start at 7 p.m.
