Wolves’ game postponed

The Sight & Sound Wolves (10-3) will have to wait to face Sabaskong (2-8).
The two Rainy River District Fastball League teams were scheduled to face each other last night at VanJura Stadium but the game was postponed.
The squads will make up the game later in the season.
In other RRDFL action last night, International Falls (6-4) continued their strong play of late with a 12-4 win over Stratton (5-8).
Duane Carlson Sr. (3-2) earned the win while Robert Anderson (0-1) was saddled with the loss in his first decision of the season.
Meanwhile, Barwick (7-5) came out on the winning end of an 18-12 shootout with Big Grassy (2-8-1).
George Oltsher (6-2) picked up the win for Barwick while Melvin Major (0-2) dropped his second decision in a row.
Finally, Rainy River (10-3) survived a scare from Big Island (3-8-1).
The league’s second-place team needed eight innings to earn the 6-4 victory against a squad that has languished near the bottom of the standings for most of the season.
Big Island got homers from Charlie Kelly and Brendan Big George, but it was not enough to propel the home side to victory.
Kelly’s dinger—his fourth—moved him into a tie for second in the race for the home run title with International Falls’ Derek Bilben.
Sight & Sound’s Bob Andy leads the league with eight homers.
Rainy River pitcher Murray Armstrong picked up his league-leading ninth win of the season against three losses while Big Island’s Will Handorgan (2-6) took the loss.
