Wolves earn road win


After a heart-breaking loss in the semi-finals of the Rick Copenace Memorial tournament over the weekend, the Sight & Sound Wolves shook it off quickly.
The Fort Frances-based squad earned a 9-7 win over host Northwest Bay in RRDFL regular-season action Tuesday night.
Marcel Pagee earned the win while Wayne Smith took the loss.
In a high-scoring affair, Rainy River topped Manitou 16-15 in eight innings.
Matt Johnson got the win, and also helped his own cause by swatting the lone homer of the game.
Jason Wilson was tagged with the loss.
Meanwhile, the Barwick Blue Knights continued their winning ways after taking first place in the Copenace tourney, blanking Big Island 10-0 on Tuesday night.
Veteran pitcher George Oltsher got the win while Patrick Gibbons was shouldered with the defeat.
And in a game going nine innings, the Big Grassy Braves downed the Big Grassy Lightning 9-6.
Travis Tom picked up the win while Jeff Morrison took the loss despite delivering the lone homer of the game.
No scored was reported from the game between Sabaskong and Stratton.
