Wolves bounce back

Two nights after suffering their first loss of the season, the Sight & Sound Wolves rebounded here yesterday evening.
The Wolves trounced visiting Manitou 12-1 at VanJura Park on the strength of home runs by Clayton “Beef” Windego, Paul Visser, and Dale Jerry.
Bob Andy picked up the victory.
In other Rainy River District Fastball League action last night, the Big Grassy Braves thumped Big Island 12-3.
Jessie Tom and Travis Tom each homered twice for Big Grassy while Sean Comegan went deep for Big Island.
Travis Tom earned the win while Rueben Gibbins took the loss.
The remaining games were one-run affairs, with previously-undefeated teams all tasting their first loss.
The Big Grassy Lightning blanked Rainy River 1-0 as Jeff Morrison took the pitcher’s duel over Murray Armstrong.
Stratton, meanwhile, outlasted Barwick 5-4 thanks to home runs from Guy Arpin and Ted Heyens.
Arpin also notched the win while George Oltsher took the loss.
Lastly, Northwest Bay bumped Sabaskong 6-5. Kevin Copenace went deep in a losing cause for the Cubs.
Terry Smith pitched the victory while Joe Jack was on the mound for Sabaskong.
