Wings, Leafs win games

Emo minor hockey teams took five of their seven games played last week, including a 5-2 win by the Novice Wings over Food Town (Fort Frances).
Leading 3-2 after two periods, the Wings added two more in the third to seal the victory.
Tyson Romyn led the way with a hat trick while Ryan Witherspoon and Brock Benjamin notched the other goals. Shane Loyie and Kyle Sigurdson replied for Food Town.
In Atom ‘AA’ action, the Kaemingh Leafs skated past visiting International Falls 4-1 on goals by Joel Baker (two), Mike Niskala, and Tanner Kaemingh.
Logan Bigler replied for the visitors.
Meanwhile, the Emo PeeWee Panthers split their games, doubling the Lions (Fort Frances) 4-2 but then suffering a 3-1 setback to Esso (Fort Frances).
Kathryn Kelly, Vaughan Wilson, Kaleb Firth, and Jennifer Caul each scored in the Panthers’ win over the Lions. Steve Lovisa and Jeremy Wilson tallied for the Fort squad.
Damian Allan (two) and Rick Ricard paced Esso to victory, with Jeremy Hyatt getting Emo’s lone goal in that one.
The Emo Bantam Cowboys had a win and a tie last week, first edging Canadian Tire (Fort Frances) 3-2 on Darren DeGagne’s game-winner at 5:50 of the third period.
Justin Hamilton and Gary Curtis added singles for the Cowboys while Ty Christiansen and Randy Martin replied for Fort Frances.
Against the Oddfellows (Fort Frances), Marc Foley scored in the second period to earn a 1-1 tie. Justin Martin had scored for the Cowboys earlier in the game.
But it was a different story for the Emo Blues, who fell 4-2 to the B•Macs (Fort Frances) in Midget action.
Dallas Mosbeck led the Fort squad with two goals while Patrick Wensley and Jeff Savage added singles. Jason Mann and Adam McTavish each tallied for the Blues.
