Nobody was going to outrace Raice on this night.
Fort Frances resident Raice Westover claimed his second feature win of the season during Borderland Racing Association action Saturday at the Emo Speedway.
Westover zipped across the finish line ahead of Jesse Thompson (Emo) and Dean Kellar (Devlin).
Street Stocks division leader Kevin Desserre (Dryden) was one of four drivers in the field of 11 not to finish the feature and ended the night with 498 total points.
But six-time feature winner Tylar Wilson (Fort Frances) was unable to take advantage of the opportunity as he finished seventh in the feature to only close within 30 of the lead (468).
Jake Froemke, who also didn’t get through the feature, sits third in the standings (440).
Under the category of no big surprise, Jamie Davis (Fort Frances) racked up his seventh feature victory this season in the WISSOTA Modifieds division to give him top spot on back-to-back weeks.
Davis motored home in front of the Emo tandem of Greg Ferris and Brody Strachan to move up to third in the standings with 574 points.
Strachan, meanwhile, put a little more distance between himself and Devlin’s Jeff Davis in the race for the overall division lead–sitting at 643 points while the younger Davis is in second (606) after he finished fifth in the nine-car feature.
And in the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds division, Dan Tocheri (Kakabeka Falls) earned his second feature win of the year.
Tocheri topped Dayton Brady (Thunder Bay) and defending division champ Cody Ossachuk (Pinewood).
Ossachuk remains atop the standings, with his total of 649 putting him 37 ahead of Jason Williamson of Fort Frances (612).
James Lambert of Fort Frances is in third place (590).
Racing fans will get double the fun this weekend as the stock cars hit the track for a doubleheader Friday and Saturday as part of the Emo Fall Fair Rea Memorial Weekend.
Hot laps are at 6 p.m. each night, with racing beginning at 6:30.
