Kevin Webb certainly had a night to remember.
Webb scored seven times, leaving him just three shy of Gib Tucker’s team record for most goals in a season, as the Muskies embarrassed the Dryden Eagles 14-0 here last night.
The onslaught started less than a minute into the game as Webb (assisted by Jeff Savage) netted his first of the night.
Webb scored twice more in the first to get his hat trick, one unassisted and the other set up by David Lloyd.
Tom Rose also netted two goals in the opening period (with assists to Adam McTavish and Kris Esselink) while Donald Kellar (Webb/Lorne Koski) added another as the black-and-gold led 6-0 after the first 20 minutes.
After McTavish (Esselink/Ross Anderson) made it 7-0 in the second, Webb (James Asplund/Lloyd) netted his fourth of the night to put the Muskies up by eight.
Anderson (McTavish/Savage) followed with the ninth goal before Webb (Kellar/Savage) tallied his fifth with less than a minute left in the second.
After Cole Hayward (Asplund/Webb) and Rose (Steve Niskala/Anderson) made it 12-0 in the third, Webb rounded out the scoring with two more goals, the first assisted by Hayward and Asplund with the second being unassisted.
With three games left in the regular season (a pair in Red Lake this weekend and then on up in Dryden a week from Friday), the Muskies sit in top sport with an undefeated record in league play.
Their overall record is 24-2-1 (including exhibition games and tournaments).
