Warriors pull out of girls’ hockey loop

The NorWOSSA girls’ hockey league has dropped to five teams for the 2011/12 campaign after the Sioux Lookout Warriors were forced to pull out due to low numbers.
That’s thrown the schedule into disarray, including the cancellation of tonight’s game between the Muskies and Warriors, which had been set for the Ice For Kids Arena here.
“It’s unfortunate for the girls up there and for the school, and it’s tough to see when something like that happens,” said Muskie head coach Scott Clendenning.
“We did fill the game that was supposed to take place here by having Red Lake come here on [Sunday] Dec. 18,” he noted.
“But we have yet to hear about what will happen with our game that was supposed to take place there later this year [Feb. 4].”
The Muskies’ next scheduled game is slated for next Friday (Nov. 25) when the Kenora Broncos invade the ’52 Canadians Arena.
