Voyageurs remain unbeaten

One half was all it took for Boston Pizza to realize it was not going to be their night.
The La Place Rendez-Vous U18 Voyageurs sailed to a 6-0 win over Boston Pizza in Borderland Soccer League women’s division action last night in a game that officially lasted only until halftime.
Given the score, the two teams agreed to a friendly scrimmage for the rest of the evening.
Erin Tomalty, Abby Sanders, Maggie Jean, Claire Hyatt, Angel McCormack, and Taylor Croswell scored for the first-place Voyageurs (5-0), who have defeated last-place Boston Pizza (0-5) by a combined score of 15-0 in their past two meetings.
Bryanna Dustin netted the shutout
The other game saw Al’s Racquet Stringing (2-3-1) and Taggs (2-2-1) play to a 2-2 draw.
Sara Kellar and Sara Coish scored for Al’s, with Phyllis Pierson manning the net.
Jess Caul and Marisa Tremblay replied for Taggs as Jess Badiuk handled their goalkeeping duties.
Women’s action resumes tomorrow with the Voyageurs facing Taggs and Al’s taking on Boston Pizza.
The men take over the pitch tonight, with Manitou Forest Products facing the La Place Rendez-Vous U18 Voyageurs and International Travel Services battling Pharmasave.
All games begin at 7 p.m.
