Voyageurs qualify for nationals

The Rainy River Community College Voyageurs don’t have too much territory to chart when they play in the American College Hockey Association’s national tournament.
The Voyageurs will be looking to bring home the Divison II women’s title for the third-consecutive year when the tournament begins in Blaine, Mn. on March 12.
RRCC enters the tournament ranked first in the ACHA’s West Division after finishing with a 10-5 record.
They’ll face off against the University of Vermont and the University of Delaware in round-robin play.
Seven of the Voyageurs’ 13 players hail from Fort Frances, Rainy River, Emo, and International Falls, including leading scorer Brenley Anderson of Rainy River.
Anderson tallied 19 goals and 11 assists during the regular season.
Fallon Andy, Lindsey Roehrig, and Katelynn Stearns of Fort Frances, Emo’s Cassandra Cochrane, and Kylie Harala and Courtney Scholler of the Falls round out the local contingent.
