Voyageurs do well at tournament

The Rainy River Community College Voyageurs’ women’s volleyball team performed well at the Crossover Tourney at Anoka Ramsey CC last week.
They lost to a good Rochester team 22-25, 18-25, and 25-27.
RRCC defeated Riverland 30-28, 25-14, and 25-22.
Sandy Thompson had 13 kills and nine digs while Karli Phillips had 32 set assists.
The Voyageurs then edged Western Tech (Lacrosse, Wis.) by set scores of 27-25, 25-27, 25-20, and 26-24.
El Wilform had 12 kills in that one while Thompson had 11.
Phillips had 40 set assists, with Alison Satre recording 20 digs.
Bella Ettestad also had a stong performance with six kills and one block.
RRCC then swept host Anoka Ramsey 25-14, 25-12, and 25-20.
Former Muskie Chelsea Kabatay and Thompson both had seven kills while Phillips had 23 set assists.
RRCC is 11-12 overall and 5-7 in the Northern Division of the MCAC.
The Voyageurs next host hosts Central lakes College this Friday at 6:30 p.m.
It is Sophomore Appreciation night and “Dig Pink” night.
Then RRCC will host the Pioneers from Northland on Saturday at noon.
