Vous now atop men’s standings

The La Place Rendez-Vous U18 Voyageurs had two different kinds of victories the past two nights to vault them into first place in the men’s division of the Borderland Soccer League.
It was three points the easy way yesterday evening as the Voyageurs (4-1) claimed a 1-0 forfeit win over Pharmasave (2-4), which couldn’t field enough players to start the game.
On Tuesday, the Vous got goals from Chase McGuire (two) and Kevin Metke en route to a 3-0 triumph over International Travel Services (3-3).
Gavin Richardson recorded the shutout in net while Britt Green took the loss.
Also Tuesday night, the female edition of the Vous continued its season-long blitz of the women’s division—notching a new season-high in goals with a 10-1 romp over Taggs.
With much of the roster featuring members of the three-time defending NorWOSSA champion Muskies, the Voyageurs (6-0) have mauled the opposition so far.
Claire Hyatt notched her first hat trick of the season to pace the Vous’ offence against Taggs.
Erin Tomalty had her second-straight two-goal outing, with Jenny Hammond also rifling home a pair to go.
Abby Sanders added a single while an own goal by Taggs (1-5) accounted for the other marker.
Bryanna Dustin and Hammond shared the victory in goal.
Jess Caul had the only tally for the cellar-dwellers while Jess Badiuk suffered the loss in net.
Last night’s game between Taggs and Al’s Racquet Stringing (2-4) was postponed due to several members from both teams having personal obligations.
No makeup date has been announced.
League action resumes Monday at 7 p.m. when the Vous faces Al’s in women’s play.
The male Voyageurs, meanwhile, will square off against defending champion Manitou Forest Products (2-4).
