It’s going to take a titanic effort for any other women’s soccer team to sink the Good Ship Voyageur.
Myla Angus netted four goals, and Erin Tomalty added three more, to pace the La Place Rendez-Vous U18 Voyageurs to a 9-0 rout over Taggs in the Borderland Soccer League’s women’s division regular-season finale last night.
Annalise Hayes and Maggie Jean added singles while Bryanna Dustin registered her league-high fourth shutout.
The first-place Vous (14-1-1) are red-hot entering Monday’s semi-final at 6:30 p.m. against last-place Boston Pizza (1-9-1), having tallied 24 times during its three-game winning streak.
Third-place Taggs (6-7-1), meanwhile, will face second-place Al’s Racquet Stringing (6-7-3) in Monday’s other semi-final.
In men’s division action last night, second-place ITS kept first-place Manitou Forest Products off the scoresheet in a 4-0 victory.
Zack Koomans, Cam Gobeil, Matt Beck, and Ben McBride were the goal scorers.
ITS next will take on the third-place La Place Rendez-Vous U18 Voyageurs this Tuesday (Aug. 11) in one semi-final showdown.
The other one will feature Manitou against last-place Pharmasave.
The losing teams in the women’s and men’s division semi-finals will square off in their respective bronze-medal matches on Wednesday (Aug. 12).
The championship games in both divisions will go the following night.
