Vianets sit atop standings

The defending Fort Frances Men’s Basketball League champions are off to a strong start again this season, earning victories in their first two games.
Vianets (2-0) followed up last week’s 65-60 win over La Place Rendez-Vous with an 86-73 victory versus the Fort High Muskies (1-1) here Monday night.
Darren Toneguzzi led Vianets with 21 points while Muskie Jeremy Strain scored a team-high 20 points in the loss.
In other league action Monday night, Brad Wardas scored 36 points to help La Place Rendez-Vous (1-1) to a 66-56 victory over Taggs (0-2).
Mark Heyens scored 13 points for Taggs, who lost their season-opener 75-68 to the Muskies the previous week.
The four-team league plays every Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Fort High.
