The local U12 boys’ and girls’ soccer teams will get the 2011 campaign started Monday afternoon with registration and their opening practices at St. Francis Field starting at 4:30 p.m.
This year the teams will be coached by Mike Sande and Alyssa Holliday, who are taking over the reins from Sarah Noonan, who stepped aside from the U12 program earlier this year due to other commitments.
The teams—made up of players born from 1999-2001—will practise every Monday and Wednesday from 4:30-5:45 p.m. until the district tournament is held here in late August.
The tournament, which has yet to have an exact date finalized, will see the regional squads take on other teams from Northwestern Ontario.
