Tourney result irks Muskie coach

Consider Adrian Chapman unimpressed.
The Muskie senior boys’ volleyball coach was in no mood for merriment after his team went winless in four matches at the St. Thomas Aquinas invitational tournament in Kenora last Saturday—claiming just one set out of a possible 12.
“My team showed very little desire to win,” fumed Chapman, who did praise his Grade 10 junior call-ups for their hustle during the tourney.
“Volleyball is a game in which emotions can dictate the result of the game more than any other factor,” he added. “This team first needs to harness and control their emotions before they will be able to progress any further.”
The black-and-gold were swept 3-0 in their matches against Port Collegiate Institute (Portage La Prairie, Man.), Gabrielle Roy High School (Winnipeg), and the host team.
They fell 2-1 to the Kenora Broncos in their second match of the day.
“The team has a long way to go before they reach the level of play that I know they are capable of,” said Chapman.
