Montana Plasky and Greta Fedoruk got airborne in Port Colborne against some of the best skaters in their age group in the province.
The two Border Skating Club members took part in the 2017 Skate Ontario Championships there last week, with varying degrees of success.
Plasky battled to sixth place out of 12 participants in the STAR 5 Women U13 category with a total of 17.36 points.
Isabella Seccarecia of the Canadian Ice Academy (Mississauga) captured gold with 20.08.
Fedoruk, meanwhile, grabbed 15th position out of 18 skaters in the STAR 8 Women class, compiling a score of 23.80.
Elizabeth Elliott of the South Windsor Figure Skating Club topped the group with 33.63.
The Border Skating Club, meanwhile, is in full swing preparing for its annual ice show, which will run April 8-9 at the Ice For Kids Arena.
