The Fort Frances Timbits girls’ hockey team claimed the Lake of the Woods tournament title in Kenora over the weekend.
The squad went undefeated through the round-robin, then capped off their crown with a thrilling win over Emo in the final.
Timbits had tied the score with just three minutes left in regulation. After overtime decided nothing, Kelsey Langtry netted the winning goal in the shootout.
“This was the team’s first tournament of the year, and all the girls were very excited with the weekend results,” co-coach Pete LeDrew said.
