The Dawson Tigers ran their record to 4-0 following a 20-5 thrashing of the Manitou Thunderbirds in Rainy River District Men’s Fastball League action Thursday night.
Carl Big George Jr. earned the pitching win while Charlie Debungee was saddled with the loss.
Morgan Desserre had the lone homer in the game.
The Sabaskong Lakers, meanwhile, blanked the Sight & Sound Warriors 8-0.
James Yerxa put in a stellar pitching performance to earn the win while Nick Wepruk suffered the loss.
The Rainy River Royals beat the Northwest Bay Chieftains 12-7.
Benji Dobransky nabbed the win and Darren Smith took the loss.
Elsewhere, Vaughan Wilson homered to lead the Barwick Blue Knights to a 6-4 win over the Couchiching Raiders.
Faron Morrisseau responded with round-tripper for the Raiders.
Brandon Pratt picked up the win while Tanner Smith was tagged with the loss.
Both the Stratton Eagles at Windy’s Warriors and the Sabaskong Goldeneyes at Fort Frances Braves games were postponed due to inclement weather and will be made up at a later date.
In a make-up game last Wednesday, Sight & Sound eked out a narrow 10-9 win over Northwest Bay.
Aaron Caul went yard for the Warriors while Don Smith blasted one for Northwest Bay.
Wepruk got the win, with Smith suffering the loss.
Last Tuesday’s games saw Dawson romp to a 14-0 shutout of the Goldeneyes.
Bob Andy picked up the win while Cole Beacham was tagged with the loss.
Travis Tom homered to help pace the Braves to a 13-3 rout of the Raiders.
Barwick, meanwhile, cruised to an 11-3 win over Rainy River.
Myron Armstrong and Pratt both went yard in that one.
Pratt also earned the win while Armstrong took the loss.
Manitou at Warriors was postponed due to rain.
