A week ago, the Dryden Ice Dogs walked into town and chewed a hole in the Borderland Thunder.
But if the local squad has its way, there will be no canine déja vu.
The SIJHL-leading Thunder (24-8-5-1) host the defending champion Ice Dogs (23-12-2-1) for the second time in seven days tonight at the Ice for Kids Arena.
The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
Last week, two goals by Josh Poshtar and three assists from teammate Steve Bunney sparked the Ice Dogs to a 5-3 win—their first victory of the season over the Thunder.
Borderland leads the fourth-place Ice Dogs by 13 points, with 14 games left to play for both teams.
Dryden is the hottest team in the SIJHL right now, riding a six-game winning streak coming into tonight. The Thunder have stumbled lately, managing only a 3-3-1 mark in their last seven games.
The Thunder will get an eight-day break from play after tonight, with their next action scheduled Feb. 12 in Dryden.
