Thunder snap losing skid

After more than a week lay-off, the Borderland Thunder bounced back from two humiliating losses to the Fort William North Stars with a 2-0 win over the host Dryden Ice Dogs last night.
The victory up the Thunder’s record to 13-3-1—good enough for second place in the SIJHL behind the still unbeaten North Stars.
Both goals were netted by Tyler Barker, including an empty-netter with 15 seconds to play, which gives him seven goals in 17 games so far this season.
Along with his five assists, Barker is now tied for fourth in team scoring (12 points).
Tyler Gordon stopped 27 shots to earn the shutout and his eighth win in 12 tries (8-3-1).
The Thunder are back on the road this weekend in Thunder Bay for a two-game series against the third-place K &A Golden Hawks (7-11-1).
Their next home game is slated Tuesday (Nov. 30) at 7:30 p.m. against the Ice Dogs.
