The Borderland Thunder made it two in a row over the Dryden Ice Dogs, this time winning a 4-1 decision up there last night.
The Thunder had nipped the Ice Dogs 1-0 in overtime here last Tuesday.
After a scoreless first period, Borderland jumped on the scoreboard with a pair of goals in the second.
Andrew Dault netted his ninth of the season at the 2:46 mark, assisted by Cale David and Steve Mc- Leod, before Josh McAndrew struck at 10:52.
Andrew Perrault and Kevin Webb drew assists.
The Thunder then made it 4-0 in the third when McAndrew, from Justin Green and Webb, and Aaron Boyer (Kyle Schroder/Nate Weossner) scored before the period was seven minutes old.
K. Bruetsch spoiled Dan Hoehne’s shutout bid with a goal at the 12:11 mark of the third.
Hoehne faced 30 shots to earn the win while Liam Johnston, who also had 30 shots fired his way, was pegged with the loss.
With less than a month left in the regular season, the Thunder next travel to Thunder Bay to face the KC Bulldogs this Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Their next home action isn’t slated until Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. when the Ice Dogs make a return visit to the Ice for Kids Arena.
