It was nearly a clean sweep for the four Muskie court teams yesterday against the visiting Dryden Eagles.
The senior girls’ volleyball team took care of business, winning 3-1 to improve their NorWOSSA record to 3-2.
After the black-and-gold took the first set 25-17, Dryden bounced back to nab the second one 25-23.
But the Muskies finished off the match by taking the final two sets by scores of 25-20 and 26-24.
The junior spikers (4-1), meanwhile, cruised to a straight-sets victory over the Eagles (26-24, 25-15, and 25-23).
In boys’ basketball action, the senior Muskies (2-3) fought hard until the end but fell 78-69 decision to Dryden.
Kobi Ward scored a team-high 32 points, with Cole Kowalski adding 14.
It was a much different story for the junior squad, who routed the Eagles 61-15 to improve to 4-1 in league play.
Sean Huziak and Jacob Albright led the Muskie attack with 12 points each.
Brady Meeks added 11 while Caleb Allen had nine.
The court teams now have a two-week break for exams.
The junior boys next will see action Jan. 26-27 at an exhibition tournament in Kenora.
Then all four teams will resume NorWOSSA action Jan. 31 against the host Broncos.
