The Fort Frances Thunderhawks’ road to the Allan Cup will start in Kenora.
The T’Hawks will kick off the Hockey Northwestern Ontario final tournament versus the host Thistles tonight, then will square off against the Thunder Bay Twins tomorrow.
Both games are scheduled for 8 p.m.
Fort Frances won two of the six games they played against Kenora this season, winning a 3-2 shootout on Dec. 22 and then eking out a 4-3 win Jan. 3.
Both of those games were held in Kenora.
Meanwhile, the T’Hawks finished 1-3 against the Twins this season, rallying for a 6-5 overtime win here Dec. 4.
The Twins and Thistles will complete the round-robin Saturday at 7 p.m.
The tournament’s top two teams then advance to Sunday’s final at 2 p.m.
The winner will move on to the Renwick Cup final against either the Whitby Dunlops or the Dundas Real McCoys, with that winner advancing to the Allan Cup, which runs April 19-24 in Fort St. John, B.C.
