Team #4 tops carpet bowling

Wheels to Meals held its first carpet bowling tournament at the Emo Legion last Thursday afternoon with 18 players divided into five teams participating.
The tourney ws organized by Wendy Schrumm.
Those taking part were Edith Irvine, Marcine James, and Lorette Hartnell (Team #1); Mollie Crozier, Kari Upton, and Maurice MacMillan (Team #2); Eva Angus, Maxine Mason, Dorothy Mitchell, and Mary Jordens (Team #3); Evelyn Brown, Mary Anderson, Elaine Advent, and Marg Leveridge (Team #4); and Mary Lange, Mary Vandenbrand, Merveline Brown, and Len Jordens (Team #5).
When the last ball ws delivered, the winner was Team #4, followed by Team #1, Team #2, Team #5, and Team #3.
The first three teams received trophies for their excellent showing while the others received medallions. The seniors call these tournaments fun games and it is fair exercise.
“The next round of game will be played in January,” remarked Schrumm, adding this will give seniors a chance to concentrate on other program activities like guest speakers, music appearances, etc.
Meals are prepared and served by the ladies of Legion Br. #99. They usually consist of soup and sandwiches.
