Lisa Penner has at least one more game to play.
That’s the only certainty after this morning’s draw at the 2017 Canadian senior women’s curling championship in Fredericton, N.B.
The Fort Frances resident plays third for the Northern Ontario rink skipped by Peggy Taylor of Kenora, which rebounded from two losses yesterday to beat New Brunswick 8-5 earlier today.
That leaves Northern Ontario in the middle of a quagmire in the championship pool, with the top four teams advancing to tomorrow’s semi-finals.
Saskatchewan and B.C. are tied for first in the pool at 4-2 while Ontario, Manitoba, and Alberta all are at 3-2.
Taylor is next at 3-3, with one game set for later today against Nova Scotia (2-3).
Other games in the final draw before the semi-finals will see Saskatchewan face Ontario, B.C. take on Manitoba, and Alberta meet New Brunswick.
Northern Ontario lost 6-3 to B.C. and then 6-5 to Ontario yesterday.
The gold- and bronze-medal games also will be held tomorrow.
