Taylor makes big splash at Lakehead

The Fort Frances Aquanauts headed to the Canada Games Complex for the Thunder Bay Fall Invitational and came back with a haul of medals, personal bests, and a handful of provincial qualifying times for star swimmer Donovan Taylor.
Taylor, 13, collected four times to qualify for provincial level competition as he performed personal bests in all eight of his events—earning a gold medal in all but 200m backstroke, in which he garnered a silver.
Meanwhile, 14-year-old Krista Emond also registered all personal bests.
Every Aquanaut swimmer competing there had at least one personal best, with the team, as a whole, garnering 42 personal bests in 57 events over the weekend.
The team also brought home 33 medals (16 gold, 13 silver, and four bronze) thanks to 12-year-old Andre Emond, 12-year-old Jillian Gustafson, nine-year-old Adam Stromberg, and Taylor.
The Aquanauts return to action Nov. 29-Dec. 2 at the annual Prairie Winter Invitational at the Pan Am Pool in Winnipeg.
