The local Taggs Source For Sports Bantam ‘AA’ hockey team is hosting a 12-team tournament this weekend at the Memorial Sports Centre.
Out-of-town teams scheduled to compete include International Falls, Baudette, the Kenora Thistles, Dryden Hornets, Pembina Trail (Winnipeg), and Neebing Hawks, North End Flames, South East Rangers, Westfort Maroons, and Northwest Stars (all from Thunder Bay).
The Fort Frances Stars—an all-star team consisting of Bantam house league players—will round out the field.
The round-robin portion of the tournament goes today and tomorrow morning before advancing to the playoff round tomorrow afternoon.
The finals are set to take place Sunday morning.
Taggs opened action against the Neebing Hawks earlier this afternoon (the outcome wasn’t available by press time).
