Registration for summer programs began last Thursday at the Memorial Sports Centre.
The programs, which begin at various dates starting in late June, include camping, hiking, swimming, skating, and various sports clinics.
Interested parents can register during the centre’s office hours any time until the programs fill up.
“It’s on a first-come, first-serve basis,” said Megan Ross. “The best bet is to come down as soon as possible.”
The programs have been in existence since the mid-1980s and have grown in popularity. Ross said they are very popular as each holds the maximum number of kids when the summer begins.
And this summer should be no different.
“It keeps the kids busy, it’s safe, and they’ll be having fun,” she reasoned.
If there are any questions or concerns, Ross said parents can contact her at 274-4561 or refer to the “Recreator” program guide.
