The Stratton Eagles were alone atop the Rainy River District Fastball League after two weeks of play, sporting a perfect 4-0 record heading into last night’s action.
The Eagles remained unbeaten after beating the Barwick Knights 9-3 last Tuesday, then winning a 21-14 slugfest over the Manitou Thunderbirds on Thursday.
Meanwhile, there was a logjam for second place as Barwick, Beef’s Warriors, the Big Grassy Braves, and the Big Grassy Lightning all sat at 3-1 going into last night.
The Thunderbirds were next at 2-2, followed by the Sight & Sound Wolves and Rainy River Royals (1-3).
The Big Island Huskies and Northwest Bay were tied for last with 0-4 marks.
Stratton was looking to keep its perfect record intact last night against Sight & Sound (weather permitting), then will face the Lightning tomorrow evening.
Other games scheduled for last night included Beef’s Warriors against Rainy River, the Braves versus Barwick, Manitou battling Big Island, and Northwest Bay squaring off with the Lightning.
Rounding out the schedule for tomorrow night will be the Braves against Sight & Sound, Northwest Bay meeting Beef’s Warriors, Rainy River versus Big Island, and Barwick battling Manitou.
