Strain has tough day at OFSAA

It was a tough day for Muskie Josh Strain at the all-Ontario track and field championships in Toronto on Friday.
The Grade 11 student at Fort High failed to clear 1.80 metres to bow out in 16th place in the senior boys’ high jump competition.
Strain made that height in taking gold at the NWOSSAA championships last month in Thunder Bay.
Strain claimed fifth in this discipline in the junior boys’ bracket at last year’s provincial championships in Hamilton, but was in tough against a deep field in the senior bracket.
Last year’s junior champ, Branden Wilhelm of Woodstock, took gold with a jump of 2.08 metres.
