That cloud of dust you see is Brody Strachan leaving his competition behind.
The Emo native captured his fourth WISSOTA Modifieds feature win of the season in Borderland Racing Association action Saturday night at the Emo Speedway.
On a night where four of the eight drivers were unable to finish, Strachan edged out Gary Wilson of Devlin to snag his division-leading fourth checkered flag.
Tyler Brown of Rainy River took third while Steve Nordin of Morris, Man. nabbed fourth.
Strachan widened his division points lead to 76 over Wilson (919-843) and now also sits 128 up on third-place Ron Korpi of Fort Frances (791).
Brown sits fourth with 786.
It was an all-Fort finish in the Midwest Modifieds division, meanwhile, with Jason Anderson grabbing his first checkered flag of the season ahead of Tanner Williamson.
Cody Ossachuk took third while James Lambert settled for fourth.
Ossachuk leads the division with 891 points, sitting 16 up on Dayton Brady of Devlin (875).
Lambert currently is third (829) while Bob Gaudet of Thunder Bay is a distant fourth (719).
And Tylar Wilson snared his division-leading fifth feature win in the Street Stocks.
It also was his eighth top-five finish of the season.
Darryl Desserre of Dryden was second while Shawn Reid of Thunder Bay took third.
With his win Saturday, Wilson increased his points lead in the division to 17 over Jesse Thompson of Emo (870-853).
Raice Westover of Fort Frances is third (845) while Reid now sits in fourth (638).
Racing fans will get double the fun this weekend as the stock cars hit the track for a doubleheader Friday and Saturday as part of the Emo Fall Fair’s Rea Memorial Weekend.
Hot laps are at 6 p.m. both nights, with racing beginning at 6:30 (weather permitting).
