Stock car enthusiasts will see the green flag drop after all this year.
About 50 people attended yesterday’s meeting called by the Borderland Racing Association at the Emo Speedway.
From that group, enough volunteers stepped forward to fill the required positions that it was confirmed the racing season will go ahead beginning June 13.
Association president Ken Perry Sr. had indicated that without the necessary volunteers for such jobs as manning the front and back gate, running the canteen, and selling 50/50 tickets, the season would not be able to get underway.
Track preparations are continuing in advance of the season-opener.
