The Muskie senior girls’ volleyball team had the “Fish Tank” rocking over the weekend.
The black-and-gold swept the best-of-three NWOSSAA championship against the St. Ignatius Falcons (Thunder Bay) held at Fort High and now advance to the all-Ontarios slated for March 4-6 in Amherstburg.
Fort High beat the Falcons in straight sets in the opener Friday afternoon by scores of 25-20, 25-14, and 25-17.
The Muskies then kept that momentum going as they also won the second match Saturday morning by a 3-0 margin (25-15, 25-20, and 25-21) to claim gold and advance to OFSAA.
The senior boys’ basketball team, meanwhile, competed at NWOSSAA in Thunder Bay those same two days against the host Falcons.
St. Ignatius won both games to sweep the best-of-three series and advance to OFSAA slated for March 4-6 in Timmins.
The Falcons won the opener 58-43 on Friday afternoon, then followed that up by cruising to a 61-40 romp Saturday morning.
