Two out of three ain’t bad, but three out of four is even better.
The Fort Frances Voyageurs U11 boys’ soccer team posted a 3-1 record at an exhibition showcase in Thunder Bay over the weekend, winning their last three games.
The locals opened with a 5-3 loss to one of the Chill U10 boys’ teams. Teagan Wrolstad led the way with two goals while Aiden Taggart netted the other one.
Taggart had a hat trick in the Voyageurs’ next game–an 8-0 rout of another Chill U10 team.
Hayden Beckett added a pair of goals while Wrolstad, Bo Gartzke and Klyde Laplante had singles.
The third game saw the Voyageurs dump a U11 girls’ Chill squad 7-1.
Taggart notched another hat trick in that one while Beckett, Laplante, Gartzke, and Wrolstad also scored.
Beckett then got both goals in a 2-1 win over a third Chill U10 boys’ team to close out the weekend.

After a three-week delay, the Fort Frances Multi-Use Tennis Courts are open to the public.
The delay came after the construction company involved was a week later returning to the site from the winter break than expected to complete the final stages while proper signage listing the usage rules for the facility also had to be installed on the outside fences.
Lights will be installed immediately upon their arrival in the coming days.
An official grand-opening will be held at a still-to-be-determined date.
