Skeet adding members, preparing for visit

Former resident and skeet legend to make a visit to club next month

July 20 Tuesday skeet shoot was a family affair with the Tucker family with a large contingent! Jackson Tucker continued to improve, justifying the support with 18 and 20/25. Not to be outdone Rod Tucker gave his first attempt an amazing 16/25…. excellent for a first “shot”! Zac Manty drove from Rainy River and notched 18,21,22/25 accompanied by Hannah who shot alongside. Two women have shot this year as the club’s base continues to expand. A MOST welcome addition! Skeet President Brad Houghton shot 22/25. Jeremy McGuire 22,20,22/25 and your writer, 18,19,22. In TWO weeks we’ll be joined by national class shooter, Brad McRae who WILL shoot the perfect 25/25 which has become the Impossible Dream this year. WE MUST DO BETTER SOON!

Last weekend in Uxbridge,Ontario, former local McRae broke 395/400 shooting well enough to win high overall in the event. The four gun( gauge) event uses ever-decreasing “sizes” of gauges 12,20,28, and .410 bore with ever- decreasing amounts of shot due to smaller bore size. As follows 100/100,99/100,99/100 and 97/100 with the diminutive.410 with very little shot,or, as Brad says every shot with the .410 is a “leap of faith.”
