The Border Skate Club needs help to get four-time world champion Kurt Browning to visit here.
The local club has entered the “Show It Off For Skate Canada” contest, in which entrants must use Skate Canada’s new logo in a creative fashion.
The grand prize is a one-day skating seminar with Browning.
The secondary prize is the participation of a national team member during a club’s gala ice show at season’s end.
The Border Skate Club’s video entry features club members explaining what they enjoy about skating with Skate Canada’s new logo in the background.
It also features clips of skaters during practice interspersed with the comments.
As of yesterday, 59 different clubs had submitted an entry to http://showitoffforskatecanada.ca/gallery.html
Members of the public can access the site and vote for their favourite entry.
Voters can submit one choice per day per e-mail address.
Balloting closes Dec. 31.
