Skater impresses at meet

Local figure skater Samantha Halliday put in some impressive performances at the Snow Chill 2019 Super Series competition held Feb. 1-3 in St. Thomas, Ont.
The 14-year-old, who is a member of the Border Skating Club, placed 10th in the Juvenile U14 division Free Skate while also earning silver in the Gold Interpretive program with a score of 44.91.
That score was a personal-best in the Gold Interpretive for Halliday.
Hannah Ross of the Chatham Skating Club wound up taking home top honours in the event.
All of the Border Skating Club’s skaters currently are working hard preparing for the Thunder Bay Open Super Series Competition, which will take place March 1-3.
