Six bowlers from Plaza Lanes advanced to the provincial round of the Open roll-offs after the zone round was held here over the weekend.
Qualifying for the men’s team were Ken Dick, who finished the two-day, 20-game roll-off in fourth place with a 242 average, and Jamie McKenny, who was fifth with a 238 average.
Qualifying for the women’s team were Dixie McDonald, who finished second with a 232 average, Brenda Hanzuk, who was third with a 227 average, and Carla Hanzuk, who came fifth with a 214 average.
McDonald and Brenda Hanzuk also qualified for the singles competition in the ladies’ division at the provincials, which will be held Easter weekend in Timmins.
Lori Pattison was the lone local bowler to qualify for the mixed team, finishing in seventh place amongst the women with a 207 average.
The top six in each division qualified for the men’s and women’s teams, with the seventh-ninth finishers making up the mixed team.
Andrew Stamarski finished in 13th place among the 21 men vying for a berth at the provincials with a 219 average, followed by Mike Behan in 15th place (217 average), Terry Wilson in 20th place (189 average), and Jason Rousseau in 21st (188 average).
Bobbi Jo Morelli finished in 11th place among the 14 women competing at the zone round with a 192 average.
