Sight & Sound’s bats remained hot last night in their home-opener against Big Island at VanJura Stadium here, earning a 10-8 victory to improve to 2-0 in Rainy River District Fastball League action.
Sight & Sound has posted some impressive offensive numbers early in the season, scoring a combined 22 runs in their first two games.
The high-scoring affair featured four round-trippers. Roger Allen went yard twice while Will Handorgan added another for Big Island in a losing cause.
Harvey Flamand went deep for host Sight & Sound.
Although it was a tough night for the pitchers, Bobby Andy improved his record to 2-0 on the season. Handorgan took the loss to fall to 1-1.
In other RRDFL action last night, Rainy River rebounded from its opening game loss Tuesday by defeating Big Grassy 6-1.
Murray Armstrong evened his record at 1-1 while Big Grassy pitcher Jeff Morrison fell to 0-2.
Stratton, meanwhile, got past Barwick 6-2 to maintain their perfect record to start the season.
Curtis Berg (1-0) earned the win while Travis Derkson (0-1) took the loss.
The game between International Falls (0-1) and Sabaskong (0-1) was postponed until June 8.
