Sight & Sound lose first game

Sight & Sound (5-1) lost their first game of the Rainy River District Fastball League season last night, dropping a 6-5 decision to Rainy River at VanJura Stadium here.
The loss created a two-team tie atop the RRDFL standings between Sight & Sound and Rainy River (both 5-1).
Sight & Sound lost despite getting home runs from Bob Andy, Sheldon Bourassa, “Beef” Windego, and Marcel Page.
Don Gall hit the lone homer for Rainy River, but it was enough to help propel his team to victory.
Murray Armstrong (4-1) earned the win for Rainy River while Bob Andy (2-1) was tagged with the loss.
In other RRDFL action last night, Barwick (3-3) trounced visiting Big Island (1-5) by an 11-2 score. Kevin Gemmell provided the bulk of the offence with two homers.
He also pitched for the victory in his first start of the season. Will Handorgan (1-4) was saddled with the loss.
Jaysen Indian went deep for Big Island, but it was nowhere near enough to keep his team from falling into last place in the eight-team league.
Meanwhile, Stratton (4-2) earned a narrow 6-5 win over visiting Sabaskong (1-4). Jeff Kreger homered for the victors while Don Copenace went deep in a losing cause.
Curtis Berg improved his record to 3-1 while John Big George saw his drop to 1-2.
The game between International Falls (2-2) and Big Grassy (1-4) was postponed.
