The shooting events held May 10, sponsored by the Fort Frances Sportsmen’s Club, ran smoothly thanks to the great work done by the organizing committee.
Three shooting sports were showcased—archery, skeet, and rifle.
Qualified instructors showed those who had limited or no involvement previously how to handle firearms and bows safely, and how to use them.
Then participants practised, with guidance, until they were fairly proficient.
Since these were non-competitive events, the newcomers did not have to compete against veteran shooters.
The many children, accompanied by their parents, learned a lot about the shooting sports.
All involved appeared to enjoy the day, which also included a barbecue and draw prizes.
