Shooters back on the ranges

This past week marked the return of shooting action on both sides of the border as the ranges in both Fort Frances and Ranier opened for the 2011 season.
The Fort Frances Sportsmen’s Club, which holds skeet shooting every Tuesday at 5 p.m., began its season last week.
Len Noonan showed 2010 champion Brad Houghton and Jeremy McGuire the way with a perfect round of 25.
Meanwhile, the Harry Poster Memorial Range in Ranier began its season on May 8, where Fort Frances resident Ted Brockie shot rounds of 22, 21, and 20 in skeet.
Skeet shooting in Ranier takes place every Sunday at 1 p.m. while trap shooting is held there Thursdays at 6 p.m.
