The St. Francis Sentinels now have an award over which to keep guard.
The squad cruised to a 5-0-1 round-robin record on Saturday en route to the championship game, where they overcame the Crossroads Tornadoes (Devlin) by an 18-14 score.
St. Francis kicked off its title run with a 10-4 victory over host Robert Moore, then slammed Mine Centre 34-4.
The Sentinels then eked out a 15-13 win over Riverview (Rainy River) before tying Crossroads 12-12.
They completed round-robin action with a 25-7 win over St. Patrick’s (Atikokan) and a 16-4 triumph over J.W. Walker.
St. Francis led 7-6 at the half in the final against Crossroads, then busted the game open with a 6-0 run in the second half to increase their lead to 16-8.
Crossroads’ Daniel Andy led all scorers with eight points while Aaron Luu-Hedman netted five for St. Francis, while Braeden Caul had four and Ian Kitt chipped in three.
