The annual Taggs Source for Sports senior girls’ invitational basketball tournament goes today and tomorrow at Fort High.
Teams coming here to compete include the Westgate Tigers (Thunder Bay), Churchill Trojans (Thunder Bay), Nip-Rock Lakers, Dryden Eagles, Atikokan Voyageurs, and Kenora Broncos.
The field originally had been comprised of eight teams, but St. Thomas Aquinas (Kenora) withdrew on Tuesday citing transportation issues.
As a result of the odd number of teams, the black-and-gold was given an automatic bye into the semi-finals.
But the Muskies were scheduled to play an exhibition game against the Tigers this afternoon to kick off the tournament.
Fort High then will face the winner of the match-up between the Trojans and the Lakers tonight at 6:30 p.m.
The third-place game is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. tomorrow, followed by the final at 2:30 p.m.
