The local men’s basketball league wrapped its regular season Wednesday night at Fort High, and in the process set the stage for next week’s semi-final match-ups.
In the early game, Boston Pizza clinched the top seed for the playoffs with a convincing 83-53 win over the Muskies, giving them a league-best 10-4 record.
Rob McGinnis led Boston Pizza with a 31-point outing while Caleb McIntosh had 25 points for the Muskies, who finished the regular season in third place with a 7-7 mark.
The other game Wednesday saw the Rendez-Vous default to Taggs, which left Taggs tied for the top spot with Boston Pizza.
But BP took first place by virtue of having won the season series between the two teams (3-2).
In the spirit of friendly competition, Taggs loaned Mario Degazio to the Vous so both squads could have a fun game.
Degazio ended up scoring 23 points to give the Vous a narrow 69-65 victory.
Unfortunately for the Vous, the game didn’t count in the standings as they finished in last place at 1-13.
The semi-finals go this coming Wednesday (March 30), with Taggs meeting the Muskies at 6:30 p.m.
Boston Pizza then will take on the Vous at 8 p.m.
