Sailing season begins tonight

Press Release

The Rendezvous Yacht Club recently kicked off its season with the annual spring barbecue—and now will hit the water for the first race this evening on Sand Bay.
In addition to weekly races Wednesday nights, and longer ones on Saturdays throughout the summer, the club also will be offering two days of classes in June and free rides in August.
Anyone who has never sailed before, or who wants to learn more about the sport, is encouraged to sign up for the “New Crew” program.
This event, slated for June 18-19 at La Place Rendez-Vous, will feature classroom instruction and hands-on practice on the boats.
The cost is $45/individual or $65/couple, which includes an annual membership in the club.
For more information or to register, visit the club’s website at www.rycweb.org or contact Peter at 486-1329.
As well, the club again will be offering free sailboat rides at the Ranier Festival on Aug. 13.
However, anyone interested in sailing is encouraged to contact a club member before then. If you’d like more information about the club, log onto www.rycweb.org, look us up on Facebook, or contact Diane McCarthy at 1-218-283-1060.
