The Fort Frances Jr. Sabres finished off pre-season action with a 4-3 win over the visiting Dryden Ice Dogs on Saturday night.
After falling behind 2-0 early in the opening period, the Sabres began their comeback midway through the first.
Then just seconds into the second period, Chris Sinclair netted his first of three goals to pull the Sabres even.
Play was kept in Dryden’s end for much of the period, with a barrage of shots keeping the Ice Dogs’ goalie busy before Sinclair made it 3-2 shortly before intermission.
The game got testier midway through the third when Dryden tied the score at 3-3, but Sinclair capped his hat trick to give the Sabres the narrow victory.
The Sabres open their second SIJHL season at home this Friday (Sept. 19) against the Thunder Bay Bearcats.
