Rusnak named to ‘Outdoor Caucus’

Press Release

Local MP Don Rusnak has been named co-vice chair of the Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus.
This is an all-party group of MPs who have come together to advocate for the preservation and promotion of traditional Canadian outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and trapping.
The caucus works in full partnership with the government to entrench in law fishing, hunting, trapping, and shooting sports as acceptable, environmentally-sustainable outdoor heritage activities.
Ensuring these activities are conducted with a safety credo and conservation ethic is the highest priority of the caucus.
Rusnak will co-vice chair the caucus alongside Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, and caucus chairs Gudie Hutchings (Long Range Mountains) and Bob Zimmer (Prince George-Peace River).
“I was thrilled to be named the vice-chair of the parliamentary caucus along with my colleague, Larry Miller,” said Rusnak.
“This caucus serves as an excellent way to support those who wish to participate in activities such as hunting and fishing, and also ensuring that these activities are conducted in a way that is safe and sustainable,” he noted.
“I look forward to working with the caucus this year to promote the activities that are so important to myself and many residents in Thunder Bay-Rainy River,” Rusnak added.
“Hunting, fishing, and trapping are activities that are important to myself, my constituents in the Long Range Mountains, and many Canadians nationwide,” said Hutchings.
“They are both a part of our culture–and our economy.
“The all-party Outdoor Caucus aims to preserve and promote these traditional Canadian outdoor activities in a way that is environmentally-sustainable,” he added.
“I am pleased to serve as co-chair of this caucus with my colleague, Bob Zimmer, and look forward to working with vice co-chairs Don Rusnak and Larry Miller to help advance these goals,” said Hutchings.
