After starting the post-season with four games on Tuesday night, the Rainy River District Fastball League will resume their double-knockout playoffs tonight with four more games on the schedule.
The top seeded Beef’s Warriors will begin their title quest in Couchiching this evening as they will be up against ninth-ranked Manitou, who defeated tenth-seeded Northwest Bay by a score of 11-5 on Tuesday.
The winner of that game will go up against the fourth-seeded Rainy River Royals next Tuesday night, after the Royals upended fifth-ranked Barwick 6-2 earlier this week.
Also getting their post-season underway tonight will be the second seeded Big Grassy Braves as they take on eighth-ranked Big Island, who thumped seventh-seeded Stratton 19-8 earlier this week.
Awaiting the winner of tonight’s game will be a date on Tuesday night the third ranked and two-time defending champion Sight & Sound Wolves, who advanced into the next round thanks to a 13-2 thrashing of the Big Grassy Lightning.
Two teams will also see their title hopes come to an end tonight as Stratton faces Barwick, while Northwest Bay tangles with the Big Grassy Lightning in the bottom half of the double-elimination bracket.
The playoffs will run through the rest of the month, with the finals taking place on Aug. 25, and if necessary, Aug. 30.
